We build instruments to simulate processes that occur in the cold depths of interstellar space. Our experiments use a combination of ultra-high vacuum chambers, pulsed lasers, infrared and mass spectrometers, and cryogenic technologies. We use telescopes to observe interstellar molecules and study how those molecules form and are destroyed in the harsh conditions of space.
